Fire destroyed a barn on Highway 289 in Upper Stewiacke on Monday night.
Upper Stewiacke Volunteer Fire Brigade Chief Randy O’Connell said the investigation won’t be continuing.
“It was one of those fires that ‘it could’ve been this’ or ‘it could’ve been this,’” he said, the morning after roughly eight goats, two pigs and some chickens perished in the blaze on Highway 289. “Nothing was insured so we won’t be calling in the fire marshal for anything.”
Firefighters responded to the call just before 9 p.m. Monday. Along with Upper Stewiacke firefighters, mutual aid came from members in Upper Musquodoboit, Brookfield and Hilden.
O’Connell estimated firefighters were on scene for about three hours.
