The amount of days that school is cancelled in the run of a winter isn't much. Granted it does depend on how many storms we get. I remember school being closed often when I was a child cause of weather, not so much anymore. I would much rather find child care for my son then risk him being in a school bus on slippery roads with it potentially going off the road. Guaranteed -RegReader- would be one of the first ones to criticize the School Board (and probably try and sue,) if they didn't cancel school and their child's bus went off the road and got hurt, even minor. There has been accidents on the highway and people are asked to slow down. Why would you want many many bus filled children on the road?

As a parent this is really frustrating. In no way should a forecast of 5-10cms of snow call for school to be cancelled. This screams of staff just wanting a day off.

Staff wanting the day off? Clearly you have no idea how school is cancelled. ( The people in charge still report to work. And although it seemed sketchy at 7am I am quite pleased my kids aren't on a bus right now.

They cancelled school, because of 5 to 10 cm of snow?
