BIBLE HILL - The provincial government is set to make an announcement Tuesday morning regarding the Nova Scotia provincial Exhibition and Truro Raceway.
The announcement, to be made by agriculture minister Keith Colwell, will be made at 9:30 a.m. in Halifax.
Details of the announcement have not been released.
NSPE commission chair Bruce Kennedy and acting NSPE manager Raymond Tynes said they will wait until after the announcement to comment.
The commission is carrying about $1-million in debt, half of which is owed to the province, which Colwell had previously stated will not be forgiven.
Earlier this month the commission laid off previous general manager Roger McCallum, an accountant and office secretary. A pair of grounds workers, who look after snow removal and racetrack maintenance, are still employed.
At the same time, previous board chair John Douglas and board member Dave Clark resigned their posts.
