Proposals for a potential use for the former Bass River School are under review by the CCRSB.
The school closed last June and students who would have gone there now attend West Colchester Consolidated School.
The Municipality of Colchester had first right of refusal to retain ownership of the school but when the county did not exercise that option, it went back to the school board, which recently put out a request for proposals.
Area Coun. Tom Taggart said a meeting held in Bass River in December to determine community interest for finding a new use for the school only drew about five residents.
"So I guess that tells me that there is not a lot of community interest in it," he said.
School board spokeswoman Debbie Buott-Matheson said she anticipates the building and the associated property will be sold after the bids have been reviewed.
