TRURO - Ian Thompson, the former provincial deputy minister of economic development, will speak at a Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce event this week.

Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce.

Thompson's keynote address is titled ‘Nova Scotia: Will We Change or Will We Flounder?

The message he will deliver states that unless we change, Nova Scotia businesses will lose out on great opportunities.

He says as Nova Scotia's working-age population ages, the ability to attract fresh, young talent is going to become an increasingly important issue. He notes we're quickly becoming a "province of retirees."

Thursday's event is the chamber's first "Lunch and Learn" of 2014, and it takes place at the Best Western Glengarry, beginning at 11:45 am. A full meal will be served for $20.
