TRURO – Residents in the MacCallum Settlement area should not be alarmed if they wake up on Saturday to military activity.
Members of the Canadian Armed Forces will be conducting training in the community on Saturday and Sunday.
The training will consist of soldiers conducting winter activities, which will include construction of winter defenses, navigation and living under winter conditions in tents. Participants will carry weapons and blank ammunition may be used.
Increased levels of noise in the area due to the use of blank ammunition can also be anticipated.
Members of the public are asked to observe safety instructions should they approach or encounter soldiers conducting training.
For more information during the exercise period contact Captain Colin MacKenzie at 893-6890.
