TRURO - Parts of Colchester County are under a windchill warning for Thursday, and a winter storm watch is in effect.
Environment Canada said extreme windchill values of about -35 C are expected today in Colchester County - Cobequid Bay and Colchester County - North.
Along with the windchill, the winter storm watch is calling for a low pressure system overnight Thursday and into Friday that will bring snow and blowing snow.
Snowfall amounts are likely to be between 15 and 30 centimetres for most of the province.
A cold airmass is to blame for the extreme cold temperatures. Temperatures are expected to drop to about -25 in the morning in Northern Nova Scotia, and with the northwesterly winds, it will feel like -35.
