DARTMOUTH - A 23-year-old man is facing charges after shots rang out inside a Dartmouth barbershop on Tuesday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Theresa Rath said the shooting happened around 2:25 p.m. inside the barbershop, which is located in a strip mall at 118 Wyse Rd.

Police say either one or two men entered the shop and opened fire. There were about 20 people inside at the time, and everyone fled the scene before police arrived.

A man was seen running from the barbershop and a security guard directed officers to his location at the Dartmouth Sportsplex, where he was arrested. He was allegedly in possession of a gun as well.

No one was reported injured from the shooting, which saw multiple shots fired.

The 23-year-old will appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Thursday to face several firearm charges.
