New Year’s dance
DEC. 31 – Royal Canadian Legion, Truro. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Featuring Country Heat. Tickets on sale at the legion bar for $20 a person. Door prize, spot dances and more.
Gospel coffee house
DEC. 31 – Special New Year’s Eve gathering. The Salvation Army, 14 Outram St., Truro. 8 to 10 p.m. Bring snacks. Free-will offering. Everyone welcome.
New Year’s Eve dance
DEC. 31 – Royal Canadian Legion, Truro. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Music by Country Heat, snacks, spot dances, door prizes, balloon stomp at midnight. $20 per person, on sale at the bar.
New Year’s Day levee
JAN. 1 – Salmon River Fire Brigade. Noon to 2 p.m. Salmon River fire hall. Refreshments will be served and entertainment by Countrified. Everyone welcome.
Town of Truro levee
JAN. 1 – Levee at Truro council chambers. 695 Prince St., Truro. Third floor of the civic building. Noon to 1 p.m.
Masonic Lodge levee
JAN. 1 – Annual New Year’s Day levee. 143 Pictou Rd., Bible Hill. Noon to 1 p.m. Everyone welcome.
JAN. 1 – Stewiacke Valley Historical Society’s levee. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the museum. 5445 Hwy. 289. Everyone welcome.
