VALLEY - A 47-year-old man is facing two counts of first degree murder after the bodies of two women were found inside a Valley home on Friday.

Gerald Rushton will appear in Truro provincial court on Monday, charged in the deaths of Elizabeth MacPherson, 54, and Brittany MacPherson, 24.
Rushton was formally charged after being released from the Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Halifax on Saturday. He has been transferred to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility.
On Friday, police received a 911 call just after 3 p.m. to respond to 492 Pictou Rd. Two females were found deceased and an adult male was taken into custody and transported to hospital with serious injuries.
