TRURO - With freezing rain having started in the Town of Truro in the early morning hours, the RCMP are advising motorists to stay off roads.

Due to rain and freezing rain conditions, the roads throughout the province are very slippery and unless it is absolutely necessary, people are advised to stay inside.

The RCMP have responded to multiple calls in the province involving vehicles off the raods.

Parts of Nova Scotia remain under a warning as of suppertime, including continued freezing rain warnings for Colchester County.

The freezing rain is expected to persist into the evening, and the central and valley parts of Nova Scotia will be the worst hit by the freezing rain.
