Maple producers to meet in Bible Hill

An informative day is being planned for maple producers. 

The 2014 annual meeting of the Maple Producers Association of Nova Scotia (MPANS)  will be held on Saturday January 18, 2014 in the Riverview Room of Jenkins Hall, Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture campus in Bible Hill. 

Registration begins at 9 am and the cost of $25 per person includes lunch.

The morning program will include the business meeting, committee reports, a presentation by the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, and the introduction of Dr. David Gray, Dean and Principal of Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture. 

The afternoon program will include a presentation by Dr. Robert Johns, Forestry Entomologist with the Atlantic Forestry Centre in Fredericton, on insects that caused destruction to maple trees in 2013; Dr. Raj Lada reporting on theNatural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Engage project; and an update on the Climate Change project.
