The night of Dec 21 will be filled with Christmas music and entertainment.

Creative Voices of Truro, along with special guests, will stage a Christmas concert on that date at St Andrew’s United Church.

Creative Voices of Truro is an all-female group that formed in September 2010 and is directed by Jacqueline Chambers.

“There are about 30 women involved, with 20 who have been there since the first” said Sonya Parks, one of the members. “It includes women of all ages.”

The group meets Monday night for rehearsals and members continue to learn.

“Jackie gets us to push our boundaries, but in a positive way,” said Parks. “She makes it easy and comforting. I was involved in barbershop a few years back and t’s a wonderful feeling to express yourself through song.”

Parks explained that Creative Voices of Truro is not just a choir; it also includes instrumentals, with members playing flute, horn and guitar. New members are always welcome to audition.

Special guests Treble Makers, a musical group comprised of young women, and the Truro Youth Singers will also perform at the Dec 21 concert. The show begins at 7pm and tickets ($15 for adults and $5 for children aged 12 and under) are available from members or at the door.
