WENTWORTH- After a record setting early start o snow making Ski Wentworth is set to open for the season on Saturday.
“We’re thrilled to be opening before the Christmas school break with excellent manmade snow coverage and conditions,” said Leslie Wilson, general manager Ski Wentworth, in a news release. “With our new snowmaking system, and the cold temperatures we’ve experienced lately, we were able to make a lot of snow in a short period of time. We started making snow Nov. 24, the earliest start to snowmaking ever.”
Ski Wentworth will be open on Sissy, Helter Skelter, Rosebowl and a mini terrain park. Bunny Hill will open on Sunday, Dec. 15. Learn to ski and snowboard lessons will start on Sunday. Opening day hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Early season pricing: lift tickets $30 and rentals $20.
“These are some of the best conditions we’ve ever opened on,” said Wilson. “It’s shaping up to be a great opening day, with snow on its way Sunday and Monday. People are excited to get back on the slopes,” said Wilson.
