MILLBROOK - Members of the RCMP are on site of two local convenience stores Monday morning - one for an armed robbery and another for a break and enter.

According to a press release issued by the Millbrook RCMP, a male armed with a firearm or imitation firearm entered Abenaki Variety at 5:30 a.m. with a female accomplice.

The male suspect ordered the lone employee to open the till while pointing the firearm at her. The suspect then pushed the employee aside and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect also demanded cigarettes and the employee complied by putting the cartons of cigarettes on the counter for the suspect who handed them to his accomplice to put in a duffle bag.

The suspects fled in a small unidentified motor vehicle.

The male suspect is described as approximately 6'1' tall, slim build, wearing a camouflage jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers with a white bottom.

The female suspect is approximately 5'4" tall, wearing a dark jacket with a white crest on her left breast pocket, dark pants and is carrying a GoodLife duffle bag.

Both suspects had their faces covered.

Over at the Onslow Market, a gapping hole is visible in the glass door to the store, with broken glass strewn on the ground outside.

The RCMP identification unit, as well as at least two other RCMP officers, were at the store at around 9 a.m.

It's also not known at this point if the two incidents are related.

The incidents come within a day of an attempted break and enter at the Earltown General Store.

Owner Brent Halverson said someone tried to get into the store through a window at around 3 a.m. Sunday, less than a week after the store's front door was smashed and someone walked off with roughly $1,000.

Halverson, who purchased the store four months ago with his partner Kayla Conoley, had been staying at the store in the evenings since the first break and enter the previous weekend.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact the Millbrook RCMP at 893-6819 (armed robbery), the Colchester RCMP at 893-6820 (break and enters), or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
