HALIFAX – A pair of Halifax men are facing charges after a break and enter in Hammonds Plains on Tuesday.
Around 9:50 a.m. RCMP responded to a residence on Lake Mist Drive when the homeowner called to report a break and enter in progress.
“To his dismay he found a car running in his driveway and a TV set sticking out of the back,” said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Scott MacRae.
MacRae said the suspects ran away, but RCMP and Halifax Regional Police officers contained the area and found both men within an hour.
He said the incident “hits home” the importance of neighbours contacting police when they see suspicious activity.
Two Halifax men, aged 18 and 22, face charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property. One man is also charged with a breach of conditions.
Both appear in Halifax provincial court Wednesday.
