TRURO – A winning lottery ticket worth $1 million could be claimed by a group of people from Truro and surrounding area.
Carla Bourque, communications specialist with the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC), said she received a call from someone claiming to hold the winning ticket, but until the winner or winners verify their numbers, ALC can’t release names.
Bourque said she believes the person claiming to hold the ticket is expected to arrive at their offices by Tuesday or Wednesday. Then, there will be a validation process to make sure the ticket is actually the winning ticket and the winner or winners are legitimate.
The ticket was an Atlantic Lotto Max Millions from Friday night’s draw and was purchased in Truro. Speculation in the community and social media sites suggests the winners are co-workers at Parkland Truro.
