TRURO - Truro police had a relatively quiet Halloween night.
While no major pranks or issues were reported, police did respond to two impaired driving issues. A news release from Truro police indicates that on Thursday at about 4:15 p.m. an officer responded to a motor-vehicle accident at the intersection of Pleasant and Victoria streets where a vehicle hit a pole.
The officer assisted the 33-year-old female driver out of the vehicle and believed her to be impaired by alcohol. The driver was taken from the scene via ambulance. The matter was still under investigation Friday afternoon.
The second incident occurred at about 4 a.m. on Elm Street. Police found a vehicle running with the male driver asleep at the wheel.
The 19-year-old male from Truro provided samples of his breath that were two times the legal limit. He is charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle while being impaired by alcohol and for failing the breathalyzer. He will appear in Truro provincial court at a later date.
