HALIFAX - A man is facing charges after police chased after a suspect who allegedly tossed drugs and cash down a storm drain in Halifax.
Police say they tried pulling over a vehicle in the area of Bayers Road and Connaught Avenue around 6 p.m. Tuesday for a traffic violation, but the driver refused, resulting in a brief chase.
The vehicle eventually turned onto a dead-end street and the driver took off on foot. That’s when police say they saw him toss something down the storm drain.
The suspect was eventually arrested and police say when they searched the storm drain they found cash, cocaine and crack cocaine.
The man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, fleeing from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He is due in court on Wednesday.
