NORTH RIVER – A cabin here was lost Sunday night due to a fire.
North River and District Fire Brigade Chief Leroy Hansen said the cabin, built behind Molly’s Dairy Bar on Highway 311, was fully involved when firefighters arrived shortly before 9:30.
“We didn’t save it. It was completely gone,” said Hansen, adding no one was at the site when firefighters arrived.
“At this point, the cause of the fire has been undetermined. There was no power to the place, but there is a wood stove.”
Sixteen firefighters from the department responded and Hansen said the brigade didn’t call for mutual aid.
“We had our tanker there and there was enough water there for us that we didn’t have to call,” he said.
