OCT. 25 – Douglas Street Recreation Centre, 7:30 p.m. Shared lunch, 50-50 draw, door prize. Ages 50 and older are welcome. Sponsored by the Truro Y Senior Citizens Group.
OCT. 25 – Colchester Historeum, Young Street, Truro. Noon. Heat the Building fundraising luncheon. $12 a ticket. Everyone welcome.
OCT. 25 – St. Andrew’s United Church, Stewiacke. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chili or soup, sandwiches or biscuits, desserts and refreshments. $8 per person.
Open door prayer time
OCT. 25 – First Baptist Church, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer for the community. Wheelchair accessible.
Christmas craft sale
OCT. 25 & 26 – Hilden fire hall. 1 to 8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. Ceramics, sewing, décor, knitting and more. Bake table and baked beans and brown bread for takeout. Sponsored by the Hilden Fire Brigade’s ladies auxiliary.
Craft market, bake sale
OCT. 26 – Antiques and lunch as well. First United Church’s Memorial Hall. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pantry items, pottery, quilts, knitted items, children’s wear, scarves, jellies and more. Lunch of soup, biscuit/roll, dessert, tea/coffee, $7; coffee/tea and muffin, $1.
OCT. 26 – Colchester hospital’s auxiliary hubbub. 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cobequid Educational Centre’s gymnasium. Featuring homemade goodies, books, 50/50 draws, health displays, Christmas items and more.
OCT. 26 – Londonderry Community Centre. 9 p.m. to midnight. Old-time and country music with Wayne Elliott and Friends. Guest fiddler in attendance. Canteen facilities. To reserve tickets, call 897-4553 or 895-0036. Proceeds for a CEC bursary. Sponsored by the North Star Masonic Lodge No. 74.
Roast beef dinner
OCT. 26 – St. David’s United Church, Bible Hill. 4 and 6 p.m. sittings. Advance tickets, $12 by calling 843-2085.
OCT. 26 – Hosted by the Debert Military Museum. 4 to 6 p.m. Debert fire hall. Takeout available by calling the fire hall the day of the event or drop in. $12 a person; $6 for children 12 and younger. Proceeds of the museum’s upkeep.
Scotia Pool anniversary
OCT. 26 – Celebrating 40 years. Perennia Park, Bible Hill. 2 to 4 p.m. Swim for a loonie. Door prizes. Everyone welcome.
