COLE HARBOUR - Police are investigating after two men, one wearing a mask, broke into a Cole Harbour residence and assaulted a woman.

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, RCMP responded to a robbery call from a home on Taranaki Drive.

Police were told the woman living in the residence had opened her door to find a man wearing a Freddy Krueger mask.

She quickly shut the door, but police say the masked suspect kicked it in, and entered the home with another man who carried a two-by-four.

The man wearing the mask also carried a firearm. Police say they demanded cash, and left the residence with jewelry and a television.

The woman screamed, and police say she was assaulted by one of the suspects as they left.

Police later found the TV on a path behind the residence.
