The following evening, officers stopped a car at around midnight after observing it being driven in an erratic manner.
The driver failed the roadside test and provided samples of his breath that were three times the legal limit.
A small quantity of marijuana and cannabis resin were also found.
A 62-year-old Truro man will appear in court on Nov. 6 to face charges of impaired driving, failing the breathalyzer and possession of a controlled substance.
