OCT. 4 – Bible Hill Village Hall, 7 p.m. $5 per person. Prizes, light lunch, 50/50 draw. Proceeds for the Bible Hill Fire Hall ladies auxiliary.

Old gospel time concert

OCT. 4 – First United Church. 7 p.m. Guests: Bill and Susan Huey, Jim Richards and Rusty Cage, Kitchen Trio, Son Rise and others. Admission: $10. Proceeds for church restorations.

Old-time dance

OCT. 4 – Douglas Street Recreation Centre, 7:30 p.m. Shared lunch, 50-50 draw, door prize. Ages 50 and older are welcome. Sponsored by the Truro Y Senior Citizens Group.

Junior lego

OCT. 4 – Truro library. 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. For children ages five to seven. Registration opens Sept. 27 by calling


Annual seniors meeting

OCT. 4 – Local Seniors Games annual meeting. 9:30 a.m. Bible Hill village hall. Open to everyone.

Community prayer

OCT. 4 – Open Door. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. First Baptist Church’s sanctuary. Personal prayer for people in the community. Wheelchair accessible.

Harvest potluck supper

OCT. 5 – West Branch Community Hall, 4 to 6 p.m. Dishes, pies. Admission – Adults – $8; 12 and under – $4; under 4 – free. Takeout available.

Bazaar, silent auction

OCT. 5 – Truro Heights United Baptist Church, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bake good table, hot dogs, drinks and ice cream. Kids cake walk and other activities, quilt exhibit and door prizes. $4, kids under 12 – free.

Card party

OCT. 5 – Denmark Community Hall, (3204 Highway 326, beside Forbes Bros.), 7:30 p.m. Cribbage and 45s. 50-50 draw, lunch. $3. Everyone welcome. Call 657-2921 for information.

Pork supper

OCT. 5 – Shubenacadie United Church. 4:30 to 6 p.m. Takeouts available. Adults, $12; children five to 12, $6; younger than five get in for free. Wheelchair/elevator accessible.

Debert & area kitchen party

Gospel coffee house

Nathan Rogers Trio

OCT. 5 – Musquodoboit Valley Bicentennial Theatre and Cultural Centre, Middle Musquodoboit. Doors open at 7 p.m.; showtime at 8 p.m. Tickets $25 for general; youth 12 and younger, $12.50. Call 902-384-2819.

Fundraising concert

OCT. 5 – Hosted by Tatamagouche’s Phoenix 596 Air Cadet Squadron and Truro’s 185 Navy League Cadet Corps CPO James Carroll. North Shore Recreation Centre. 7 p.m. Celebrating Cadet Day. Features entertainers Julie Johnstone, Bob and C.J. Prest, Tanya Dondale, Gary Collins, drill team demonstrations and more. Admission by donation.
