TRURO – The sentencing date for a former mutual fund salesman in Truro has been changed to Nov. 12.
John Alexander Allen, 49, of Summerside, who earlier this year pled guilty to four counts of forgery, had been scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 15.
Allen recently changed his plea after initially pleading not guilty to 21 counts of forgery and fraud related to dealings he had with clients while working for Keybase Financial in Truro dating back to 2004.
The original charges alleged that he had cheated dozens of clients out of an estimated $14 million.
All other charges will be withdrawn on the sentencing date.
The Nova Scotia Securities Commission previously fined Allen more than $1 million following the incidents.
