TRURO - Dozens of Truro residents are without power, cable and phone service this morning following a work site incident.
Dozens of residents in Truro are without power, cable and phone service this morning after lines from Glenwood Drive to Fairview Droive were caught by the boom of a Town of Truro public works truck. The lines were torn from poles and homes after getting caught by the boom of a Town of Truro public works truck. The hydro vac truck was on Glenwood Drive cleaning a plugged sewer when crews moved the vehicle and accidentally left the boom up.
Lines were tangled along Pleasant Street from Glenwood to Fairview Drive, breaking a utility pole and tearing lines and meters from several homes. Truro Police was called to the scene at 9:30 a.m.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area as Nova Scotia Power, EastLink and Bell Aliant are on scene cleaning up. The work is expected to take several hours.
