PICTOU – A 37-year-old Pictou County man will be sentenced in November after pleading guilty to numerous charges related to a series of thefts from local boats in Pictou Harbour.
Paul Jeans Jr. entered the pleas in Pictou Provincial Court Thursday and has been placed on strict bail conditions until his sentencing Nov. 25. Eleven charges were laid in connection with thefts from boats docked at the Pictou marina last week. Jeans Jr. pleaded guilty to eight of the charges and the additional ones will be addressed at his next court appearance.
All of the charges have been elected indictable by the Crown meaning he could face a period of time in custody. Both the Crown and defence agreed a pre-sentence report is necessary since Jeans Jr. has never before the court system.
