TRURO – Two Truro natives were awarded Nova Scotia Talent Trust scholarships for 2013.

Robyn Harrison and Wayne Burns both received the scholarships under the theatre discipline, and both with a sub-discipline of acting.

Harrison, 21, just started her third year of a four-year musical theatre program at Sheridan College in Toronto. She spent her summer performing six days a week with the Charlottetown Festival’s Young Company group.

Burns, who lives in Montreal and is studying acting at the National Theatre School of Canada, has a role in ‘All the Wrong Reasons,’ a film that just premiered on the Atlantic Film Festival screen last weekend. Also featured in the movie was Truro’s Cameron Begin and the late Cory Monteith, known for his role as Finn on Fox’s hit series ‘Glee.’

The 22-year-old also had a role in ‘Bone Deep,’ which also premiered at the festival.
