Field day for cattle producers in Cape John

CAPE JOHN - Beef producers interested in grass-fed pasturing and beef production are invited to the Cape John Pasture Field Day being held Sept. 17 at the Community Pasture in Cape John.

Cape John field day

From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. there will be sessions on the pastures and presentations including Selecting Cattle for Grass-fed Beef Producers by Morgan Hartman from New York State and Pasture Grazing Management by Dr. Ann Clark from Ontario.

 Other sessions cover grazing management and getting more legumes in the pasture.

 There is no fee and lunch is provided.  Interested producers must register by calling 1-877-710-5210 or online at www.perennia.ca.

 The field day is being hosted by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Perennia Food and Agriculture Inc.
