The following are only a few community events taking place throughout Colchester County this week.
Card party - AUG. 27 – Central North River Community Centre. 19 Hiram Lynds Rd. Every Monday at 7 p.m. Runs August and September.
Pancake breakfast - AUG. 27 – Colchester Community Workshops. 7:30 to 10 a.m. Blueberry pancakes, sausages, tea or coffee. Tickets at the workshops’ intercolonial café on Arthur Street. $5.
Dance - AUG. 28 – Salmon River fire hall. Music by Countrified and others. Shared lunch. 8:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
Tea in the garden - AUG. 28 – Each Wednesday. 1 to 3 p.m. Colchester Historeum’s garden, Young Street. Tea, scones and sweets. $6 includes tea and admission to exhibits. If raining, tea will be inside.
Pugwash artists’ show and sale - AUG. 29 – The Brick House, Water Street, Pugwash. Opening ceremony at 7 p.m. Show continues on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday between noon and 4 p.m.
Wild blueberry dessert party - AUG. 30 – Colchester Historeum, Young Street. Truro. 7 p.m. $10 a ticket. Desserts, exhibits, door prizes and entertainment by C.J. and Bob Presto.
Pancake breakfast - AUG. 31– Salvation Army, 14 Outram St., 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Blueberry pancakes, sausage, homemade baked beans, juice, tea or coffee. Adults – $6; children – $3. Proceeds to to camp fees for children.
Church supper - AUG. 31 – Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Tatamagouche. Casseroles, baked beans, salads, breads, rolls and desserts. 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Adults, $10; children under 12, $5. Proceeds for the church.
Old-time dance - AUG. 31 – Roach Hall, Hills of Annand, Tatamagouche. 8 to 11 p.m. Donation bottle, shared lunch. Presented by the North Shore Seniors.
