HALIFAX - Police here are investigating after a man was found lying injured on a roadway early on Saturday.
Authorities believe the 25-year-old man was hurt while jumping off the trailer of a moving truck.
According to police, witnesses saw the man jump on the back of the trailer while the vehicle was stopped at a red light on Main Street at about 2 a.m.
Police say alcohol likely played a role in the incident.
Authorities have yet to locate the vehicle but believe the driver may have not have been aware of what happened.
The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
