North River man facing charges.
TRURO – A well-known local magician is scheduled for trial in late March on a variety of charges.
David William Johnston, 40, of 220 Mountain Lee Rd., North River – who performs under the title of Mister J - recently pled not guilty to five charges, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, in relation to an alleged incident that occurred in the parking lot of the Robie Street Sobeys on April 26.
He is also charged with assault with a motor vehicle, assault causing bodily harm, failing to stop after a motor vehicle accident and attempt to administer “a poison or other destructive noxious thing (a prescription anti-depressant),” with intent to aggrieve or annoy his alleged victim, Jason Nichols.
Johnston is scheduled for trial in provincial court in Truro on March 31.
