HALIFAX — A Halifax Regional Police officer has been arrested on an allegation of sexual assault.
Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response Team says it fielded an allegation on Aug. 2 made by a woman against a male constable with the Halifax police.
The agency says the allegation relates to an incident at the woman’s home in early July. It says the officer, who it did not identify, has been released from custody and is due to appear in provincial court in Halifax on Sept. 26.
Halifax police said earlier this month that the officer was suspended from duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
