TRURO – A blood clinic this week will be dedicated in honour of the late Robert McFarlane.
Originally from Truro, McFarlane passed way this past May after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Over the course of his treatment for multiple myeloma, McFarlane received five blood transfusions.
His family and friends are honouring his memory while recognizing the importance of blood donations with this clinic.
The clinic will be held at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 295 Young St., Truro, on Thursday, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m.
Giving blood is one of the most direct ways to help a hospital patient in need and it only takes about an hour.
To book an appointment to donate blood in McFarlane’s honour, call 1-888-236-6283 or visit www.blood.ca.
All are welcome and ‘in honour’ cards will be available for people to show their support, which will then be given to McFarlane’s family.
