Lego at the library - AUG. 16 – Truro library. For children ages eight and older. 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Registration starts Aug. 9. Call 895-1625 to register.
Blueberry crisp desserts - AUG. 16 – Marigold Cultural Centre, Truro. 6 p.m. Kicks off the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival. Proceeds for the Bill Rawlinson Memorial Outreach Fund at St. John’s Church.
Social - AUG. 16 – Royal Canadian Legion, Tatamagouche. 5 to 7 p.m. Shaved beef, potato salad,blueberry dessert. $6. Everyone welcome.
Prayer time - AUG. 16 – First Baptist Church’s sanctuary. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer for the community. Wheelchair accessible.
Quilters and rug hookers sale - AUG. 16 & 17 – St. David’s Quilters and Rug Hookers of Northern Nova Scotia. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. St. David’s United Church, Bible Hill. Free blueberry tea room downtowns. Admission to sale: $2.
Community auction - AUG. 17 – Lower Onslow Community Centre Society hosting the event. At the centre, 12391 Hwy. 2, Lower Onslow. 10 a.m. Barbecue. Many items up for grabs, including dishes, solid wood doors, chairs, old church windows, and more.
Blueberry dessert coffee house - AUG. 17 – Economy Recreation Centre. 7:30 p.m. Blueberry desserts, tea and coffee. Open mike. Call 647-2022 to contribute. $6 per person for the dessert/refreshments. Sponsored by the Economy United Church’s board of stewards.
Blueberry potluck supper - AUG. 17 – Debert fire hall. 4:30 to 6 p.m. Adults, $10; children younger than 12, $5. Proceeds for church purposes.
Fundraising yard sale - AUG. 17 – In front of the Brookfield fire hall. 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Dr. Annie Hamilton IODE.
Gospel coffee house - AUG. 17 – Debert Baptist Church. 7 p.m. Music, fellowship and potluck refreshments. Everyone welcome.
