Driver dead, passenger hurt after car leaves N.S. road

CAMBRIDGE STATION, N.S. — RCMP say the driver of a car is dead and another person in hospital after a vehicle crashed into a tree on a Nova Scotia road.

Police say the single-vehicle crash happened late Wednesday afternoon in Cambridge Station.

Cpl. Scott MacRae says the male driver, believed to be between the ages of 17 and 20, died at the scene.

His passenger, also a male believed to be around the same age, was airlifted to hospital in Halifax.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
