BADDECK — The search for an 81-year-old woman who went missing from a Baddeck Inlet campground was expected to continue overnight.

Police say Forest left to go for a hike on a nature trail but hasn't been seen since.

"The search continues throughout the night, weather is somewhat decent, somewhat damp, but temperatures aren't too bad," he said.

The teams were expected to be relieved by ground search and rescue from Richmond and Inverness before morning.

Forest is described as a white female, five feet tall, with a slight build. She was last seen wearing a checkered orange-and-black jacket, jeans and running shoes. She was also carrying a walking stick.

In addition, an RCMP canine unit, boat and helicopter were also used in the search.
