Man strikes pedestrian, thrown from motorcycle on Bedford Highway

BEDFORD - Halifax police are investigating after a a man driving a motorcycle struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the Bedford Highway.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday after police say a 24-year-old male pedestrian, who wasn’t in a crosswalk, tried to cross the busy stretch of road in the 1700 block.

The motorcycle struck the man, police say, causing the 24-year-old driver to be thrown from the vehicle.

The pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries while the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.
