MONTAGUE – Island RCMP are investigating a fatal collision discovered today in Dingwells Mills.
Earlier today, RCMP members from Kings District responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Highways #4 and #2, at Dingwells Mills. Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle had left the roadway, travelling approximately 100 meters into foliage, hidden from view.
A passerby noticed a disturbance of the foliage and upon further investigation, the vehicle, which he reported to police who attended the scene.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene with an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow.
Early indications are that the driver is the 44-year-old man from Howe Point, who was reported missing earlier this week. The investigation is continuing.
