Deceased Blockhouse fisherman’s name released by RCMP

INDIAN POINT – The name of the lobster fisherman found in the water Tuesday has been released.

Lunenburg RCMP has identified the man as Reid Risser, 71, of Blockhouse Nova Scotia.

RCMP received responded to an early morning call regarding a fisherman who fell overboard in Indian Point. Two men had been preparing to go lobster fishing when one of the individuals left the area and returned to the other unconscious in the water. Emergency crews from Mahone Bay fire department, Emergency Health Services and Indian Point fire departments responded to the scene. The unconscious man was transported to the hospital where he died.

The incident is still under investigation but officers do not suspect foul play.
