The following are a few of the events happening throughout Colchester County Saturday.
Chili sale – Colchester SPCA is hosting the event. Heavenly Crumbs Bakery, Pictou Road, Bible Hill. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. $12 for a one litre container. Pre-order by March 16 by calling 673-2917.
Community volunteer income tax program – Completing tax forms for low-income tax program people. Truro library. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 895-4183 for an appointment. Drop-ins welcome.
Indoor yard, bake sale – Upper Stewiacke Church hall. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tables are limited. Book for $10 each with Corrine at 671-2176. Proceeds for the Upper Stewiacke and Springside United Churches.
Seafood chowder, chili luncheon – Seafood chowder, chili, homemade soup, rolls, dessert, tea and coffee. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Maitland. Adults, $8; children under 12, $5; children under five get in for free. Sponsored by the Anglican Parish of Maitland.
Pancake breakfast – Truro and District Lions Club. 1100 Prince St., Truro. 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. $7 teenagers and adults; $3 for children 12 and younger. Juice, bacon, sausage, pancakes, baked beans, toast, tea/coffee.
Old-time fiddle and country dance – Stewiacke legion. 8 to 11 p.m. Music by LBD&G Country. Shared lunch. Members and guests welcome.
Church supper – Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Tatamagouche. 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Casseroles, baked beans, salads, breads and desserts. Adults, $10; children under 10 years, $5. Proceeds for church purposes.
Maple pancake brunch – Malagash Community Hall. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Snow date: March 24. Homemade pancakes, baked beans, bread and sweets. Local maple syrup and refreshments. Adults, $8; children 12 and younger, $4; preschoolers get in for free. Proceeds for the Malagash United Church.
Tech time for adults – For 20-year-olds and older. 1:30 to 3 p.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m. Truro library. Teen volunteers mentor adults in basic computer skills. Registration for adults and teens opens March 16. Call 895-4183.
Crib tournament – Royal Canadian Legion, Tatamagouche. 1 p.m. Bar and lunch services. All money returned as prizes. $20 per a team of two. Everyone welcome. Wheelchair accessible.
CEC choir bottle drive – Hosted by Cobequid Educational Centre. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drop off bottles in the CEC foyer. Proceeds for Relay for Life.
