Vehicle collides with NSP boom truck

BIBLE HILL – The Life-Flight helicopter was sent to Tatamagouche today to transport a 59-year-old woman whose vehicle slammed into the rear of a Nova Scotia Power boom truck.

RCMP sergeant Al Affleck said the Tatamagouche woman had to be cut out of her vehicle by the Jaws of Life after she became entrapped in her car.

The woman was transported by ambulance to the Tim Hortons Camp where she was picked up by Life Flight. The state of her injuries was not immediately available.

Affleck said the accident occurred on Route 6 in Bay Head near Tatamagouche where a Nova Scotia Power work crew was operating a boom truck.

The woman was alone in the car.

Motorists traveling on Route 6 in Bay Head can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane for several hours while the RCMP continue their investigation.
