Truro and area roads open despite weather

TRURO – Although most roads and highways will remain open during today’s snow blitz, drivers are asked to use extreme caution when travelling.

Roads and highways may be open to traffic, but weather conditions can make for slow moving. Highways and roads are covered with snow, icy patches and blowing and drifting snow.

?? Why would roads be closed with 15 - 20 cm of snow? Most people have to go to work whether it snows or not.
