Glenda Bower, chairwoman of the volunteer Scotia Pool Society, said the session is an attempt to provide information to the general public about the importance of the pool to its users, who include senior citizens and chronic pain sufferers.
Proponents of the pool maintain that Scotia Pool offers benefits such as warmer temperatures and other operational aspects that cannot be met by the leisure pool in the new Rath Eastlink Community Centre.
The protest is planned for 4 p.m. near the RCMP station on Pictou Road. That location was chosen, Bower said, because it is at the entrance to the road leading into the pool.
