Colchester County musicians win ECMA awards

HALIFAX – Some Colchester County musicians have taken home East Coast Music Awards.

A number of ECMAs were handed out Friday night as part of East Coast Music Week in Halifax. McCallum Settlement’s Charlie A'Court won both the blues recording and R&B/soul recording of the year awards.

In addition, Millbrook’s Lone Cloud received aboriginal recording of the year.

Also up for an award was Truro’s Will Fisher in the jazz recording of the year category. Fisher was not the recipient of the honour; it went to Sackville’s Joel Miller.

Truro’s Matt Brouwer is waiting for his category of gospel recording of the year to be announced. That award will be handed out on Sunday afternoon.
