Hearn had earlier today issued a public plea to help locate the 15-year-old who had been missing since Thursday from the Wood Street Centre. Latham had left the centre without authority to do so.
The Wood Street Centre provides a secure treatment program for youth who are in the care of the Minister of Community Services and are suffering from an emotional and/or behavioural disorder. The youth involved are deemed to require confinement in order to remedy or alleviate the disorder and who refuse or are unable to consent to treatment.
The average age of those who access the program is between 12 and 18. As many as 140 young people pass through the program each year.

There should be more programs for children to help them overcome any issues they may have . there should be more options for parents. and children under 16 should not have the right to choose. this just makes things really difficult for the system and parents .as a mother who's child went missing a bunch of times i can understand what it feels like. the bottom line is that the child thinks that they have the right of choice. The goverment needs to allow more rights for parents and open up more programs for parents in a short time to help their children.give the rights back to us as parents. glad this CHILD was found .
