Young Colchester County women get hands-on trades experience

TRURO – Women in grades nine and 10 from the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board will learn about the skilled trades and technologies through hands on workshops on Wednesday.

Skills Canada – Nova Scotia is presenting a Young Women’s Conference at the Nova Scotia Community College Truro Campus. It’s a one-day event for the students.

“We present information on thriving skilled trade and technology sectors, career training, and potential wage earnings in a fun and interactive way,” said Courtney Gouthro, executive director of Skills Canada – Nova Scotia, in a news release.

This event is one in a series of SCNS Youth Projects between October and May at locations across the province.
