Halifax Regional Police are investigating a shooting in the city on Monday night.
Police say at about 10:40 p.m., they received a call about someone being shot at a residence in the 6000 block of Chebucto Road. Police say the 25-year-old victim suffered a single gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital in Halifax with a serious injury.
He was listed as being in stable condition on Tuesday morning after having surgery.
“We do not believe this to be a random event,” said police spokesperson Const. Pierre Bourdages.
Police are holding the scene as they await a warrant for the Chebucto Road residence.
There have been no arrests and police have no information on a suspect.
