TRURO – Are you a woodland owner looking for information?

Are you interested in getting improvement work done on your land, such as silviculture treatments or access roads?

Would you like to learn more about harvesting options and the new clear cut definition that will be used for future forest management decisions?

On March 6, from 7 to 9 p.m., there will be a woodland management course available on a limited first come, first served basis at the NSCC Truro Campus at Forrester Hall.

Participants will also hear about woodland management planning options and certification programs and the relatively new Forest Ecosystem Classification (FEC) planning system will be discussed regarding how landowners can make use of it for their benefit.

As well, Ecological Landscape Analysis, which provides a vision beyond physical woodland boundaries – large scale landscape management, including wildlife implications, will also be covered.

Preregistration is required and can be arranged by calling 893-5629; 1-866-226-7577 or at www.novascotia.ca/natr/woodlot/events.asp.
