I would rather see my money go to Deuville's Rink than to that monster in Truro Heights! If you think what they received from the Hockeyville win was enough to keep them going for the next 50 years - you're sadly mistaken that just put a new roof on the building. Until all the small rinks are shut down... Truro is just going to keep firing the request for more upgrades every year!!! Hopefully Ellery Deuville will continue to serve the needs of this community and the surrounding areas as well. Keep up the good work Mr. Deuville!! And I'll see you at the Rink - Deuville's Rink!

Yes, Deuvilles received the honor of being the first winner of kraft hockeyville, with the smallest prize ever awarded of $10,000.00 I believe. Now, you and I both know, that $10,000 does not go far when it comes to doing renovations. Deuvilles Rink is an icon to the Salmon River community and the thousands and thousands of kids that currently use and have used that rink. The Devuille Family are one of the most outstanding members to the Salmon RIver community, and as such, deserve respect. The Deuville Rink started out as an oudoor facility with the owners shovling and flooding the rink until the wee hours of the morning, just so the kids and members of the community had a place to go skating. If your comments cannot be respectful to this much deserved facility/family, then please keep them to yourself.

Isn't this money just for the upgrades to the apartments upstairs so that they will meet existing fire codes? Unbelievable! A private business getting federal dollars.

No, these funds are not for the apartments!!!!! Those upgrades were done by Mr. Deuville himself from his own pocket! The government funds will go directly to the facilities. Stop being so damn pigheaded. Not everyone works the way you do!

What the hell are we the taxpayers doing giving tax dollars to Deuville rink ? it is a Private Property and we have just spent millions building the new rec center! I guess we all have to start a failing business and then get our government handouts

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kraft, CBC and the NHL upgrade this rink a few years ago when it won Hockeyville ??
